The buildings cover automatically includes a certain level of accidental
damage cover for things like:
- fixed glass, sanitary fittings, cables and underground pipes that provide
services to or from your building.
However, you do have the option to purchase extra accidental
damage cover for added protection, against a range of mishaps such as:
- putting your foot through a ceiling while you're in the attic
- hammering a nail through a pipe
- damaging wooden or tiled flooring
Extended Accidental Damage

HSBC Contents Insurance automatically includes accidental damage for certain
items such as:
- TV's (including digital and satellite receivers), DVD/Video players
and recorders, games consoles, home computers (excluding portable computers),
audio equipment, mirrors and fixed glass in furniture
You also have the option to purchase additional accidental
damage cover for your contents, which includes:
- knocking over a favourite ornament and damaging it
- sitting on your glasses at home
- spilling a drink on your carpet
Personal Belongings
Peace of mind cover for your personal items anywhere in the world. Items
covered include:

If you have an office at home, but do not have any business visitors at

- clerical business equipment up to a maximum of £5000
- stock and trade samples up to £500
- theft of business money and business credit cards up to £300
